The painted arch dial with moon roller movement, subsidiary second-hand and date aperture, the 13 inch dial credited in an oak and mahogany swan necked elevated front above a wide mahogany cross band, the shaped trunk door flanked by split fluted quarter columns. The whole on bracket feet. 210 cms. high.
An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock the inlaid mahogany case with broken scroll pediment, supported on fluted columns with gilt metal mounts, the trunk with ebony line inlaid canted corners and arched door, standing on bracket feet, the arched brass face with silvered chapter ring and dial with engraved decoration, subsidiary seconds and gilt metal mounted spandrels, surmounted by a moon phase roller to the arch above depictions of the eastern and western hemispheres, the dial signed 'CARTER Walthamstow', fitted with an eight day movement striking on a bell, 91in. (231cm.) high.
