A 9 carat yellow gold close curb link bracelet with padlock fastener, nineteen charms attached; steam roller, trophy, old woman who lived in a shoe, seal with black onyx base, lantern, seal with intaglio carved base of a squirrel and initials RD, boot, Holy Bible, bloodstone ball and claw, mandolin set with a cluster of nine garnets, Aladins lamp, Atlas holding up a globe, state carriage, penguin, poodle, banded agate bead in a coiled serpent, pig in a motor car, seal of cupid on an anvil with cornelion base, pearl in a shell, all charms bear a 9 carat gold British hallmark except for cupid that tests as gold and the intaglio seal that tests as metal. gross weight 174.6g.Condition report:Please see further images uploaded to our website.The padlock fastener is functioning and secure, the links on the bracelet do not show any wear and are quite close curbs, length of bracelet approximately 18/19cm.

Y A GEORGE III MAHOGANY, SYCAMORE AND SATINWOOD PEMBROKE TABLEATTRIBUTED TO HENRY KETTLE, CIRCA 1775Centred with a marquetry rose, the drawer with a sliding leather inset writing surface69cm high, 51cm wide, 92cm wide with the leaves raised, 68cm deepThis fine Pembroke table, in the manner of Hepplewhite, closely relates to an example by cabinet maker Henry Kettle, supplied to John Parker the younger, later Lord Boringdon for the saloon at Saltram, Devon (Illustrated in C.Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture, 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, fig. 543, p.289). A further related table, also in the manner of Henry Kettle, finished with a harewood ground and shaped panels to the leaves, is illustrated in P. Broome, The Hyde Park Collection, Hong Kong, 1985, p.191.Henry Kettle's known career began when he was taken into partnership with the cabinet-maker William Henshaw around 1770 whose workshops were at 18 St. Paul's Church Yard. Kettle continued solely at this address from circa 1774 when he took over the firm of Philip Bell at 23 St. Paul's Church Yard, the address from which he appears to have centred his business from around 1777. He is also discussed in G. Wills 'Some Labelled Furniture at Saltram', Furniture History, Leeds, 1966, vol.II, p.37 (pl.XIX).Closely related examples, all also fitted with the same unusual form of castors, were sold: Christie's, New York, Important English Furniture, 17th October 2003, Lot 230 ($26,290). OHASHI SUISEKI: A SCROLL PAINTING OF A TIGER AND FULL MOONBy Ohashi Suiseki (1865-1945), signed Suiseki and sealed SuisekiJapan, late 19th to early 20th centuryFinely painted in ink and watercolors on silk and mounted as a hanging scroll with a silk brocade frame, depicting a tiger seated on its haunches with its head raised amid reeds and grass, its striped fur neatly executed, below the full moon partly obscured by wispy clouds. Signed lower left SUISEKI with seal Suiseki. With dark wood jiku (roller ends).SIZE 125 x 50.5 cm (image) and 210 x 69 cm (incl. mounting)Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, little creasing, minor soiling.Provenance: Belgian private collection, assembled during the 1980s and 1990s.Ohashi Suiseki (1865-1945) was born in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture and studied under Amano Hoko in Kyoto and Watanabe Shoka in Tokyo. A RARE SCROLL PAINTING DEPICTING A YUREI (GHOST)Japan, late 19th centuryFinely painted in ink and watercolors on silk, with a silk brocade frame and mounted as a hanging scroll. Depicting a frightening female ghost, the lower area with vividly painted brushstrokes to show the ghost's semi-corporeal form, arising from flames, shrouded in a long flowing robe, her skin a dark gray color, the black hair falling loosely over the shoulders, the face with a fierce yet pained expression. A painted 'silk brocade frame' surrounds the image of the yurei, with the ghost painted over this 'frame' in some areas, creating a strikingly dramatic effect. With bone jiku (roller ends).With two seals to the lower right 勝蓮之画 "surpassing lotus" and 楽天 "happy and heaven", indicating a prayer directed at the painting rather than an artist signature, as artists often refused to sign their names on pictures of ghosts.SIZE 111 x 41.5 cm (image) and 173 x 46.5 cm (total)Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and little staining.Provenance: From a private collection in New York, USA.With a wood storage box.Yurei-zu are a genre of Japanese art consisting of painted or woodblock print images of ghosts, demons, and other supernatural beings.
