The Ford Mustang was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca and was branded as the first 'Pony Car', it was born out of a need to compete with the flood of European sports cars coming into the USA in the Sixties. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9th 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17th 1964. The Mustang was only available as a hardtop coupé and convertible until September 1964, it was the fastback that drew the interest of Carroll Shelby which extended the iconic reach of the Ford Mustang and firmly put it into the category of motoring legends. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and became a popular car to customise, from engine upgrades to racing stripes, no two Mustangs are often found the same. Ford kept the Mustang relatively cheap with a list price of $2,368, making the car extremely popular. This Mustang is beautifully presented in the style of the iconic movie star car, of the 1968 Steve McQueen film, Bullitt. Our vendor has completely restored the car during his tenure, with virtually no stone left unturned. The bodywork was completely restored in 2014, with many brand-new panels being used and it still presents in excellent condition today, it was clearly carried out to a very high standard. The interior presents very well overall, with new carpet, three-point front seat belts and rear lap belts fitted. Power comes from a fully rebuilt and upgraded 302 cubic inch roller rocker V8 with Magnum 224/224 cams, Holley 600 carburettor, MSD Streetfire CDI ignition, Hedder shorty headers, electronic fuel pump, Powermaster alternator, aluminium radiator and Namco stainless steel exhaust. The engine was fully set up on a rolling road in August 2022 and produced 310bhp. Mated to the engine is a rebuilt C4 automatic gearbox with Lok floor shifter and quick shift kit fitted. The car has been fully rewired and also a halogen headlight conversion, a vast improvement over the original. To keep all of that added grunt under control, the car has been fitted with a rack and pinion power steering setup, new front shock absorbers and springs and adjustable strut rods. Stopping power comes from power assisted front disc brakes and refurbished rear drums. This is an excellent example of the ever popular ‘Bullitt’ Mustang, which has been nothing short of a labour of love for our vendor and is being offered to auction with a sizeable history file, including dyno print out, Marti report, original factory build sheets and many invoices from the build. Also included is a V5C registration document. Consigned by Fraser Smith EXTENSIVELY RESTOREDRACK & PINION POWER STEERINGBEAUTIFUL BULLITT RECREATION

Weil (Susan).- Joyce (James) Giacomo Joyce, number 2 of 50 copies, signed by the artist, illustrated by Weil with numerous mixed media and paper cuttings, specially bound by Hannah Brown in grey goatskin, decorated with multi-coloured linear embroidery, occasional silver inlays and cut-outs revealing endpapers, spine backed in sanded pink goatskin, endpapers embroidered in variegated thread excerpts from the text, housed in cloth drop-back box, lined with pink felt, folio, New York, Vincent FitzGerald & Co., 1989. *** Susan Weil creates an interactive, multimedia experience for the reader in a manner reflective of reading Joyce’s stream-of-consciousness literature. Hannah Brown's binding in turn draws on Weil's artistry, taking as the basis for its design one of the illustrations within the text, where a sheet of silvery webbed paper with cut-outs overlays a pink sheet behind. Brown captures that motif through her skilful embroidery, her endpapers created by roller-ing acrylic paints in a range of colours onto Zerkall paper to match the colours found throughout the text block, and her care for colour as seen in the stubs and bands and the sanded spine.
