A Samuel Smith Patent Pocket Watch Movement, movement now converted to an English table roller lever signed Saml Smith, Coventry and numbered 138, movement is marked PATENTEE and the balance cock foot with patent circa 1813, movement dust cover, enamel dial with Roman numerals, seconds dial, later purpose made silver case with London hallmark 1846, 53mm wide Samuel Smith patented his escapement in 1812. Very few original examples of this escapement are extant. . 12.03.19. Later purpose made case with surface scratches, engine turned back cover decoration is rubbed in parts, dial with hairline cracks and chips to the centre, movement now converted to an English table roller lever, fusee chain has come off, movement not winding, movement not working.

The Mein family of Kelso are recorded as cabinet makers from 1784-1851.
A Regency Scottish mahogany wine decanter coaster attributed to James Mein of Kelso, the dished top with a gadrooned edge, on three leather and brass roller castors, 25cm diameter, together with a Newcastle type Masonic cut-glass decanter and stopper, engraved with a basket of flowers, an English rose and a Scottish thistle and inscribed 'Lodge 154'. (2) The Mein family of Kelso are recorded as cabinet makers from 1784-1851.
