A 17 bore flintlock Officer's holster pistol bearing the name of Weatherhead, Walters & Co of Derby, this company is listed as operating in Irongate, Derby between 1828 and 1857. It is fitted with a 9" damascus barrel and has a hinged ramrod, the barrel is attached to the stock with wedges which pass through silver oval side plates, the wrist of the stock is checkered and it has a metal rounded butt cap, the end of the trigger guard is decorated with a pineapple motif, the lock is fitted with a roller bearing, it is in excellent condition and working order.
