3 Live Steam items. 2 x Stationary Steam Plant. One probably of German manufacturer, comprising a horizontal single-cylinder engine, driving a 13cm diameter 8-spoked flywheel. The brass boiler has a detachable chimney, whistle with tap, safety valve and water gauge. The boiler is mounted on a heavy tin-plate base, measuring 25cm x 22cm. The second example is for restoration and comprises a horizontal single cylinder engine driving a 8 cm 6-spoked flywheel. The brass boiler, mounted in a tinplate frame is equipped with a filler tap, safety valve and water gauge. The chimney is missing. All located on a wooden base measuring 30.5cm x 25cm. Plus a Mamod live steam roller in green livery, complete with removable fire tray. QGC-GC some age wear overall.

A Large Swiss Musical Box on Stand: a 19th century Swiss musical box on stand, the mechanism in a mahogany box with chequered stringing on a mahogany stand. The musical box plays 12 airs and has the undamaged playlist to the inside of the lid. The mechanism has six bells which are struck by several different insects. The comb has all of its teeth and the roller is intact H 23cm; W 58cm; D 30cm CONDITION REPORT: In good working order, with minor adjustments required to the bell strikers and the winding crank which has a slightly knarled cog. All the teeth have their tips. The box is in very good condition with no losses. The box is in very good condition with no losses, the stand is also undamaged.

Acquired on the London art market before 1995. The figure depicted on this scroll is Bodhidharma, also known in Japan by his more popular name of Daruma. He is a semi-legendary figure worshipped by the Chan sect in China and the Zen in Japan. He is claimed to have introduced Indian meditation techniques into China in the sixth century. Private collection, West London, UK; acquired in the 1990s. Avalokiteshvara is the Bodhisattva of compassion and is very popular in Tibet, China and Japan. He has many forms, even taking on feminine appearance as the goddess Kwan Yin. The manifestation shown on this scroll is one of the most popular and he is depicted with a thousand arms and eleven heads as an omniscient deity of pure bounty looking and reaching out in all directions to help all suffering creatures find the path to enlightenment. The scroll possibly depicts Nichiren, a Buddhist monk who lived in Japan from 1222 to 1282 and whose teachings spread through China and Korea; later in the 20th century, through the Nichiren Buddhist sect, the teachings have spread to the West. Nichiren taught devotion to the Lotus Sutra which he believed contained the essence of the Buddha's teachings related to the laws of causality, karma, and leading all people without distinction to enlightenment.
