91936 Riley 9 Monaco SaloonReg. no. CHY 676Chassis no. 5672330Engine no. SZ2330This Monaco four door saloon was first registered on 14th September 1936 and is still a very honest car in very original condition, having never been subject to a full restoration. The Riley has been maintained and repaired as needed over its 83 years and consequently, according to the vendor, has received plaudits for the retention of such originality. CHY 676 was purchased by the vendor in 2018 and was then exercised and enjoyed over the following 18 months; since then the car has been little used and the vendor has decided to sell it as part of an attempt to reduce his collection. In 2006 significant mechanical maintenance was undertaken, including the fitting of new shell bearings, total expenditure £2,310. In 2011 a new radiator core was fitted. The car still retains original paint and upholstery, although a new set of carpets have been fitted. The Monaco boasts quality fittings including a sun visor, roller blind, rear roller blind and a fully working sliding sunroof. In the file there is an original instruction book, numerous receipts, a selection of old MOT certificates and tax discs, plus a V5C. We are advised that the front passenger window has come off the runner and there is a small oil drip from the front of the engine. Overall a delightful example.Estimate: £10,500 - 11,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on July 1st at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU with viewing on the 29th and 30th of June, you can also join us at our Nostalgia Social cars & coffee event on June 25th. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
