An 18thC flamed mahogany longcase clock, with arched and pillared hood, the trunk quarter inset with pillars and having full length crossbanded door, canted (and reduced) base, the brass 13" dial having moon roller to the chased arch and applied spandrels, the chapter ring having Roman hour numerals, Arabic minute numerals, the matted centre having subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture within an oval cartouche marked Seddon FRODSHAM. 8 day movement , striking on bell. 8' high to arch.
An 18thC mahogany longcase clock, with swan neck fluted pillar hood having verre eglomise panels, the trunk being quarter inset with fluted columns and full length shaped door, canted base with plinth, the 13" brass dial having painted and silvered moon roller to the arch, cast amorini spandrels, applied silvered chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute numerals, the centre field being a date ring with floral chased centre marked Rathbone, MIDDLEWICH, 8 day movement, striking on bell. 88" high.
A quality built 1 1/2in scale model of a 'Royal Chester' Allchin Traction engine, with single cylinder, two speed general purpose engine. The engine has a copper boiler with fittings including water gauge, pressure gauge, safety valve, blower, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder approximately 1in bore x 1 1/2in stroke, drain cocks and pipes, mechanical lubricator, trunk type crosshead guide, Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, two road speeds and spoked flywheel, Pickering type governor, chassis details include spoked straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, damper, cable drum, fairleads, water lifter,hand brake to second shaft, wooden footboard with tool box under and padlock. The model is finished in red and black paintwork. 16 1/2ins x 26in. (42cm x 66cm). No boiler history available.
A good pair of officer's double barrelled 24 bore flintlock holster pistols, by Twigg, c 1785; 141/2" overall, barrels 9", the top ribs engraved "Twigg-London" in capitals; plain flat stepped locks with safety bolts and roller on frizzen springs, dark walnut halfstocks with deeply chequered rounded butts, engraved steel mounts with pineapple finials to trigger guards and throat pipes; horn tipped ramrods, one with steel worm. Good Working Order and generally quite crisp condition (barrels rebrowned with small patches of pitting, one cock repaired and one a good old replacement); in their original deep fitted green baize lined oak case, the lid marked in ink "Edbert Hewett" and Major Hewett, 22nd Regt", containing good brass mounted red leather covered 2 way flask, 50 bore pincer mould stamped "WD", ebony loading/cleaning rod, another 2 piece cleaning rod, brush, worm and bullet extractor, bone handled brush, turned bone patch box, later steel oil bottle, key to case; and a letter headed "28 Carlyle Square, SW3" stating "These pistols were owned by Col Sir George H Hewett Bt of the 22nd Regt. He served in the Peninsular War. He was the eldest son of Genl. Sir George Hewett Bt, 1750-1840", signed "G. Nele (?) Hewett". The whole in generally quite clean condition.

A Victorian silver postage stamp box, in three compartments, the lid with apertures for 1/2d , 1d and 2 1/2d postage stamps and with affixed glass roller- and-brick, 8.5 x 8.5cm, by King & Sons, London 1899 Although apparently not a 'marriage', it is probable that the postage stamp box and the moistener have at some point become detached and rejoined as is evidenced by the presence of solder but this is not too obtrusive and there is no damage as such. There is a minute corner chip to the glass brick which is really more of a graze
An Irish flintlock travelling pistol by McDermott, Dublin, circa 1800 with sighted twist large bore barrel inscribed 'Dublin' within a full length groove, engraved bolted lock fitted with roller (the cock and safety-catch replaced), figured walnut full stock, pineapple chequered butt, engraved steel trigger-guard with pineapple finial, and horn-tipped wooden ramrod; and a silver-mounted percussion turn-off pistol by Lewis Barbar, circa 1740, converted from flintlock, with cannon barrel, the breech engraved with a band of foliage and signed beneath the percussion drum, engraved bolted action, figured walnut butt carved with a scalloped moulding about the tang, pierced and chased silver side-plate, and silver grotesque mask butt-cap the first: 26.7 cm ; 10.5in (2)
An Irish flintlock duelling pistol by McCormick, Belfast, dated 1793 with rebrowned octagonal sighted barrel inlaid with a gold line at the breech and stamped with the date underneath, gold-lined vent, stepped bolted lock engraved with foliage, signed on an inlaid gold oval, and fitted with roller, gold-lined pan, set trigger, figured walnut full stock, chequered grip (the stock with small cracks and repairs, the fore-end replaced), engraved steel mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon, and original brass-tipped wooden ramrod (the steel parts pitted throughout); a flintlock pistol signed I.Moore, late 18th Century, with two-stage sighted barrel struck with spurious proof marks and Irish census marks over the breech, signed engraved lock, figured walnut full stock (cracked through behind the lock), engraved tutenag mounts comprising solid side-plate, spurred pommel, trigger-guard with acorn finial, a pair of ramrod-pipes, and escutcheon engraved with the owner's crest (ramrod missing, the steel parts pitted and age patinated, silver inlay missing) the first: 39 cm ; 15.375in (2) The crest on the second pistol is that of Waring.
a fine pair of flintlock duelling pistols by Jas. Wilkinson, London, Gun-Maker to His Majesty, No. 929 for 1814 with signed heavy browned twist octagonal barrels, silver fore-sights, case-hardened breeches inlaid with two gold lines and platinum-lined vents, case-hardened breech tangs cut with trophies and scrolls and fitted with blued back-sights, signed detented case- hardened locks with bevelled edges and recessed tails, engraved with trophies and scrolls at the rear and each fitted with pierced cock, safety-catch, blued steel-spring and roller, with highly figured walnut half-stocks, flattened chequered butts characteristic of the maker, engraved blued spurred trigger-guards and ramrod-pipes, the former each decorated with trophies and a pineapple finial, case-hardened trigger-plates, silver escutcheons for the barrel-bolts, silver-plated fore-end caps, original horn-tipped ramrods, and each retaining nearly all of its original finish with little evidence of use: in original lined and fitted mahogany case, the lid with Wilkinson trade label stating 'Successor & Son in Law, to the late Mr Hy. Nock's patent breeching, the exterior with brass flush-fitting carrying handle enclosing an escutcheon engraved with owner's crest, and retaining some accessories including a leather-covered three-way flask, bullet mould and cleaning rod. 38.1cm., 15 in The crest is that of Nowell
