c1870s-1890s Hawthorn's Patent TICKET PUNCH, believed to be ex-Leicester Tramways Company who operated horse-drawn services until 1901. These machines are thought to have been withdrawn when Leicester Corporation electrified the services in 1903. A very uncommon machine. The operating handle moves but it's uncertain whether it punches correctly. [1]

LCC & London Transport Tramways A-type TICKET PUNCH, serial no A 8454, complete with backplate (marked 'LPTB') and strap. These were specially designed by the LCC for use on London's trams and continued in use until the end of the first-generation trams in London in 1952. In good working order, punches and rings. [1]
Selection (6) of London Underground SIGNS relating to escalators (1) and ticket offices (5), four are double-sided. The 'Assistance' sign is enamel, the 'Seasons..' is on card, the 'escalator' is alloy and the others are fibreboard. The largest sign measures 25" x 40" (64cm x 104cm) and the rest are approximately to scale. Generally in very good, ex-use condition. [6]
Trio of bus TICKET MACHINES, all with suitable boxes, comprising a TIM, with strap, ex-Salford City Transport (box is probably ex-Bolton), in working order but needs re-inking; a 5-position Ultimate, with strap, original operator unknown but contains Cardiff CT tickets, in working order; and a Setright, serial no 33209. casing no 40H, with backplate & strap, delivered in 1956 to Northern General, needs servicing as handle is jammed. Would appear to have been an institution copy – slight damage to dust-jacket where sticker was removed, evidence that library ticket was removed from endpaper and that catalogue number has been blacked out on copyright page. Otherwise in very good condition.

DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Fils (1824-1895) French author and playwright. A.L.S., A Dumas f, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to Madame Porcher, in French. Dumas tries to get money promptly, stating `Chère Madame, Voudriez-vous dire à... où nous en sommes de nos comptes. Pouvez-vous aussi faire l´argent de ces deux billets, l´un de ... et l´autre de mon carrossier à qui j´ai vendu ma voiture et qui est une signature excellente...´ (Translation: "Dear Madam, Would you like to tell... where we stand with our accounts. Can you also make money from these two notes, one from... and the other from my vehicle body-builder to whom I sold my car and which is an excellent signature....") With blank integral leaf. Very small age wear otherwise G to VGJean-Baptiste Porcher (1792-1864) and his wife were French theatrical agents who served as a banker to playwrights, including his Dumas father and son. They used to purchase copyrights and ticket passes for his authors, later reselling them at the entrance doors of theatres.
THIN LIZZY: A small oblong 8vo page individually signed by three members of the Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy, comprising Phil Lynott, Scott Gorham and John Sykes. All have signed in blue inks, Lynott adding an inscription in his hand and Gorham adding the name of the band in his hand beneath his signature.
