Henry Irving’s invitation to the performance of “Faust” at the Lyceum Theatre Note, on headed paper and dated 4 March 1887, in the hand of Henry Irving, actor-manager of the Lyceum Theatre, London, written to accompany a ticket for a box for the performance of “Faust”. Irving was then at the height of his career, and his direction of “Faust” was one of his most stunning successes. Performed over three years 1885-1888, it starred Irving as Mephistopheles and Ellen Terry as Margaret; George Alexander’s performance as Faust launched his career as an actor of major importance. (1) * Bram Stoker, author of "Dracula," was a very good friend of Irving, and later managed the Lyceum for him.

Britains - Set No. 1R 'Station Staff', Boxed. Circa mid-1950s. Comprising 20 lead figures & accessories on partially strung backing card. Conditions generally appear Excellent overall (although may benefit from some light cleaning). Box tray is Good to Good Plus (backing card could also benefit from cleaning). Box lid is Good (tear to one corner). Also includes orange "complaint" ticket. See photo.
A George III silver Beverley Racecourse Members ticket, inscribed 'Beverley STAND No 23' to one side, monogrammed and dated 1767 the other, 4.4cm. in 1767 330 silver tickets were sold to wealthy patrons, at three guineas each, to raise the £1,000 needed to build a grandstand at Beverley Race Course, East Yorkshire. In 2013 two of these tickets came up for auction and the racecourse honoured the tickets, granting free admission for three years.
