Philip II as Caesar under Philip I, silver antoninianus, Rome Mint 245-246 A.D., reverse reads:- PIETAS AVGVSTOR, priestly emblems, sprinkler,simpulum, jug, knife and lituus, Sear 9239, with old ticket, rough surfaces NVF/GF together with a silver siliqua of Julian II, mint off flan, reverse reads:- VOTIS V MVLTIS X, within wreath, Sear p.279, with old ticket, probably lightly clipped, NVF [2]

Athletics - a superb original lot relating to British Athlete Sheila Pratt (later Sewell) who competed at the 1950 European Games. The lot includes many original press cuttings, photographs, original competitors numbers, clothing, autographs, Team GB cloth badges 1950 & 1951 (framed) ticket etc. This interesting lady had an eventful life also being a West End Fashion Model in 1950 (aged 19). Lived Orpington, Kent. Sheila informed us that the athletes were expected to make their own outfits after WW2 !
Philip II as Caesar under Philip I, 245-246 A.D., silver antoninianus, Rome Mint 245-246 A.D., reverse reads:- PRINCIPI IVVENT, Philip II standing right in military attire, holding spear and globe, Sear 9242, with old ticket by Richard Swan, almost certainly a hoard coin, much original finish, near mint state
Cnut silver penny, Quatrefoil Type, Spink 1157, obverse reads:- X CNVT REX ANGLORVM [pellet in centre of 'O'], a strange legend as the initial cross is engraved into the die but the lettering punches were available as the 'X' in REX is punched in. Reverse reads:- +EDRIC MOO GIP [first 'O' horseshoe shaped with square bottom, second 'O' with pellet centre], Ipswich Mint, moneyer Edric, Sadler in his Vol.II The Ipswich Mint could trace 7 these dies, 3/4 and a further specimen has turned up in the USA, of these 8, 4 are in museums, sold with a ticket by Mike Vosper and the coin is almost certainly Ex.'Cambridge' Find, Mint state.
