The vendor has owned the car, which was registered in June 1976, since August 2011. Its odometer reads 14,842 miles which we believe is actually 114,842 miles referring to the paperwork. As an historic vehicle, the car no longer requires MoT testing; its last ticket expired in June 2018.

Africa.- Ethiopia.- Haile Selassie I (Emperor of Ethiopia, 1892-1975).- Coronation of Haile Silassie I, photograph album, 33 photographs of the coronation festivities, some related ephemera and newspaper cuttings on c. 60pp., 1f. central tear, cuttings taped down, ink ownership inscription "E. O. Springfield, The Palace, Khartoum, Sudan" to front pastedown, original printed boards, slightly rubbed and soiled, folio, [1930].⁂ An excellent album of photographs, stamps, letters and other ephemera covering the coronation of Haile Selassie I.The album was compiled by an E. O. Springfield and includes his 11-page typed account of the ceremony. Of particular note amongst the ephemera is Springfield's seat ticket for the coronation, and a manuscript letter in Amharic from the British Minster to the Empire of Ethiopia, Sir Sidney Barton, requesting safe passage for Springfield, translated as, 'Let the bearer (Mr. E.O. Springfield) pass, he is carrying food to the Emperor'. Included is a group photograph of the British delegation featuring a twenty year old Wilfred Thesiger, attended the ceremony as honorary attaché to the duke of Gloucester. Whilst British Consul-General and Minister Plenipotentiary to Addis Ababa, his father, Wilfred Gilbert Thesiger, had sheltered the Emperor's young son in 1916; the elder Thesiger died in 1920, so it was a touching tribute to the Thesiger family for the late Consul-General's son was invited to the coronation ceremony.A complete list of the ephemera is available upon request.

An Apology for Mrs. Eugenia Stanhope, editor of the Earl of Chesterfield's Letters to Philip Stanhope Esq...By an Amateur du Bon Ton, only edition, lacking half-title, first few leaves mounted on stubs, title soiled, modern blind-panelled calf, [Gulick 162], for T.Evans...and T.Cadell, [1775] § Stanhope (Philip Dormer, 4th Earl of Chesterfield) Supplement to the Letters written...to his Son, half-title, contemporary calf, rebacked preserving old spine, red roan label, for J.Dodsley, 1787,12mo & 8vo (2)⁂ The first item, an Italian edition of the second, was written by Halifax for his daughter Elizabeth, later the mother of the 4th Earl of Chesterfield. He was the recipient of over 400 letters from his father which were edited and published by his widow, Eugenia Stanhope after both father and son had died. The supplement to the letters is one of 4 editions published in the same year, this one being one of only 3 UK copies listed by ESTC with 6 more in America.

18 century velocipede.- This Ticket Will entitle the Bearer to a Sight of the Automaton; or, Flying Chariot... 13th December, 1793, woodcut velocipede, manuscript insertion "No. 45" [ticket no.], stitched into a pamphlet of blank paper, [not in ESTC], 200 x 145mm., Britannia watermark, 1793; and 6 other related pieces, including: a manuscript copy of a Dublin handbill advertising the velocipede in 1783 and a bill from Ovenden and Bushnell, Bent Timberwheel Manufacturers, probable builders of the velocipede, v.s., v.d. (7 pieces).⁂ The "Flying Chariot" is probably taken from the invention of David Manson (1726-92), Irish schoolmaster, who designed to "amuse his pupils... various machines, one a primitive kind of velocipede." (Oxford DNB). Ovenden and Bushnell, "Bent-Timber Wheel Manufactory, No. 13, Surrey Side Westminster Bridge" were probably the builders.

Chapbooks.- Napoleon.- Coach (The) that Nap Ran from... Embellished with a Ticket of Admission to the Exhibition of Buonaparte's Military Carriage, first edition, 12pp. each with etched vignette illustration, some light offsetting, 1p. chipping, original printed wrappers with Napoleonic arms to verso, light soiling, Printed by Whittingham and Rowland, Goswell Street, for the proprietor, at the Juvenile Library, London Museum, Piccadilly 1816; and Napoleon Bonaparte's Book of Fate, 8vo (2)⁂ The first rare with only the BL and Oxford copies listed on LibraryHub. The first page consists of a signed ticket to the exhibition of the carriage at the London Museum wherever else it is exhibited.

Cruikshank (George).- Jerrold (Blanchard) The Life of George Cruikshank in Two Epochs, 2 vol., plates and illustrations, extra-illustrated with over 120 engravings by Cruikshank, c.30 hand-coloured, many mounted or tipped into blank leaves with dates or captions in pencil, some bound in, some light spotting, bookplate of C.H.Hammersley and book-label of James Stevens Cox, later red straight-grain morocco, gilt, by J.Larkins, spines gilt, t.e.g., others uncut, slightly rubbed and marked, 8vo, 1882.⁂ Including hand-coloured chapbook frontispiece 'Picture of London' of 1812 (Cohn 554), portrait of Robert Cruikshank of 1820, unused etching for a box ticket for Her Majesty's Theatre of 1846, and 2 other unused etchings of 1857.

Great Eastern Railway coach makers tool chest, the purple painted exterior with hinged lid opening to reveal a foliate marquetry inlaid interior above eight sliding trays, six with drawers and two with hinged compartments, the lower section with well concealed by a sliding panel, the trays containing numerous hand tools to include planes, chisels, files etc. the majority stamped R. Sendall or E. Edwards, 94.5cm wide, 61cm high, 64cm deep.Provenance- This tool chest was a draw prize for the benefit of the widow of the late R.Sendall with tickets costing sixpence each,  the draw took place on July 29th 1904 at King's Coffee Rooms, Shaftesbury Street, Derby. The winner of the chest was E. W. Edwards, an employee of Great Eastern Railway. The box comes with a folder containing the winning drawer ticket and numerous Great Eastern Railway documents relating to E. W. Edwards
