LISBON LIONS INTEREST, SIGNED SHIRT AND RARE UNUSED TICKET DISPLAY, comprising a Bukta Lisbon Lions 25th Anniversary shirt autographed by John Clark, Jim Craig, Billy McNeill, Joe McBride, Bobby Murdoch, Ronnie Simpson, Stevie Chalmers, jimmy Johnstone, Willie O'Neill, Charlie Gallagher, Bertie Auld, Bobby Lennox, John Fallon, Willie Wallace, John Hughes, Tommy Gemmell and Neil Mochan, mounted alongside an original unused ticket for the 1967 European Cup final (Sector 4, Row K, Seat 9), and a facsimile programme, all framed and under glassNote: The original ticket for the match was purchased by the vendor, though was sadly never used as they could not attend the match. It is rare to see one in unused condition with both stubs still attached.Comes with letter certifying authenticity of the signatures, signed by John Hughes. The signatures were gathered by Bobby Murdoch and presented to the vendor at the Hospitality Inn, Glasgow, 24th May 1992, at a banquet to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Lisbon. 85cm x 112cm overall Unfortunately due to the fact that it is framed we cannot confirm if the ticket has been mounted with adhesive. Additional images are available in which it can be seen that the corners and edges of the ticket do not appear have been fixed to the back board. More detailed inspection of the right edge of the ticket appear closer to the back board than then the left hand side.

Lots 1088 to 1137 have been consigned by a relative of a private collector who is now deceased. They form the first part of a vast collection of signatures amassed over 50+ years of collecting which we will be selling in this and future auctions. Many signatures were gained in person from boyhood days at sports venues, theatres & other locations and continued through to later years with auction purchases and exchanges of correspondence. The Virgin Mary 'Stamps of the Madonna' collection in 6 boxed albums, organised alphabetically by country from Ajman to Zambia to 1970s, mainly mint/MNH, with the surplus set balances in a stockbook. This was assembled by a monk with strong purpose evident from the inclusion of the 1933 Austria WIPA miniature sheet MNH with usual marks from affixing to admission ticket (SG.MS705, £4,500; Scott #B111, $3,000, Michel €3,700), with Walter Zirath cert. (2001) stating condition is as fresh as possible, along with plain-paper single. Other highlights are Belgium 1933 Orval set (SG.633/643, £1,100; Sc.B132/B143, $1,175) and MNH m/s 1949 Van der Weyden (SG.MS1261) and 1952 Koekelberg (SG.MS1392), German occupation of Pleskau red cross m/s MNH (Mi.Block 4, €800), excellent Spain incl. 1931 Montserrat set (SG.713/725, £1,700), 1940-46 Zaragosa cathedral fund with the 10p+4pi regular and air perforate (SG.995 and 1005, £700) and the sets imperf (€1,000 in Edifil) with two distinct shades each on the top values (each signed twice), etc. Generally very attractive condition with many of the better items never hinged.
