These admission ticket tokens are listed for the Park Theatre, New York and are known in two types, inscribed ADMIT or PAID; the theatre opened on Park Row in 1798 and became successful in the 1810-1830 period before it burned down in 1848. Johann Sobieski (sometimes John III Sobieski, 1629-1696) was king of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1674; he achieved victory over the Turkish Ottoman army at Chocim which coincided with the death of Michael I and this war resulted in the delaying of John's coronation until 1676. Near as struck; from slightly rusty dies. Scarce.
