A fine Swiss travelling gilt brass combination timepiece, barometer and thermometer, the central turned column with suspension loop and bell shaped circular foot, supporting a pair of swivel mounted drum shaped cases, fitted with a timepiece with lever escapement and white enamel dial bearing Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute numerals and an aneroid barometer with white enamel dial to the front and a thermometer with silvered dial to the reverse, the circular foot with screw fitting, stamped 304 'R', the barometer dial bearing maker's initials 'A RDE', hair crack to barometer dial, 14cm wide, 7.5cm high, complete with red velvet lined black morocco leather fitted case, with minor faults

Rimavesi Bros Bournemouth; a mid 19th century mahogany and line-inlaid wheel barometer, the silvered register with central sweep hand and with hygrometer, thermometer, convex mirror and spirit level, the later with maker's name, the case surmounted with an urn finial and swan-neck pediment, 96cm high
An Edwardain oak cased aneroid barometer, the 19cm circular white dial inscribed Lancaster and Thorpe, Derby, mercury thermometer, the case carved with swags and leaves, 91cm high, c.1905. Alderman Bertram Samuel Thorpe (1879-1946) and Frederick William Lancaster of 21, Derwent Street, Derby worked in partnership from 1904 initially from 90 St. Peter's Street. Thorpe himself was a Derby Councillor 1923-1945 and served as Mayor of Derby in 1934-35. This instrument dates from their early (1904-14) period.
