Victorian mahogany banjo barometer, signed Gatward Huntingdon, silvered dials, ivorine adjustor, height 96cm.Condition report:It is complete, with mercury. The case has had some historic adaptions/ repairs: the swan neck and moulding to the top looks later, and the thermometer housing appears replaced (with some existing splits lower left corner). The dry/damp needle is now just a fine splinter of wood rather than metal. The barometer dial has a scratch running from the lefthand edge (approx 9 o'clock position) and the gilt hand is presumably replaced.
Victorian mahogany banjo barometer, signed P Cattaneo, Reigate, Surrey, silvered dials and thermometer, 99cm.Condition report:It is mercury filled and the weights are in place but not sure why it isn't working. The adjustor dial is lacking. The case is generally ok, other than a split to the moulded ebonised border to the mirror disc.
Mahogany Wheel Barometer, second quarter of the 19th Century, signed J. Vago, 32 Brooks, Holb'n, broken swan-neck pediment, with a convex mirror plate, onion pendant, the case outlined in ebony and boxwood, 97cm.Condition report:The tube is mercury filled but the string to the weights has broken so hence not working. All seems present. The swan neck front component to the pediment is loose and needs reattaching; but the left hand mouding is missing. The bottom edge of moulding to the thermometer case has dropped or has been reattached slightly misaligned.
