A French ormolu-mounted, brown tortoiseshell, ebony and Boulle barometre à pyramideIn the Louis XIV style, after a model by André-Charles Boulle, second half 19th centurySurmounted by the arms of France, with stepped pediment above tapering trunk centred with an oval medallion of a lady, above a foliate mask cast frame to the enamel dial inscribed 'CICERI Selon TORICELLI' to the centre and with three other plaques 'PLUVIEUX' / 'CHANGEANT' / 'BEAU TEMPS', with waisted stem on integral rectangular plinth, with bracket-shaped base and berried terminal, the reverse with a printed paper label detailing a similar barometer, inscribed in ink with reference to a sale at Christie's in 1893114cm. high. IllustratedThe original model from the workshop of André-Charles Boulle and his sons is after a design by Jean Bérain and Gilles-Marie Oppenordt.The reference to the 1893 sale on the paper label on the reverse is most likely that of a similar, though smaller, one bought shortly after the French Revolution by George Capel-Conigsby, 5th Earl of Essex (d. 1839) and sold at Christie's in 1893. A pair with its matching clock sold Sothebys, London 29th June 2005, lot 234,COMPARATIVE LITERATURE:Hans Ottomeyer & Peter Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Vol. II, Munich, 1896, p. 48, fig. 1.5.2, illustrates the original model for this barometer by Boulle with the dial signed Ciceri and Toricelli, in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (Jones Collection 1122-1882). A mahogany stick barometer, signed Manticha & Co, circa 1820, broken arched pediment, exposed mercury tube with a single vernier silvered dial signed, thermometer tube, barber pole stringing inlaid borders, 97cm high20.04.17, Half of the pediment is missing, dial front door frame is loose and the veneers have come off and are lifting, case with small scratches and dents, later cistern cover is loose with one screw missing, dial is discoloured and needs silvering, mercury tube with air bubbles.
A mahogany inlaid wheel barometer, signed L Bellatti, Grantham, circa 1825, broken arched pediment, shell inlaid case with stringing to the borders, thermometer box, 8-inch silvered dial signed, 98cm high07.05.13, Case with sunlight damage to the surfaces, some edges around the case with dents, broken arched pediment has been resored and pieces of wood later added, case front with some small cracks, dials look clean, mercury tube is complete.
An unusual figural wall mounted aneroid barometer, circa 1900, the maiden figure in robes mounted on an oval wooden wall plaque, 4-inch white enamel dial, aneroid barometer movement, 48cm high 21.04.17, Metal surfaces with pitting marks and discoloured throughout, metal surfaces with signs of gilt metal paint in parts, wooden plaque with chips and re-painted in parts, aneroid movement has not been tested for its working condition.

The mahogany Negretti & Zambra case with scratches and small dents, both thermometer tubes with air bubbles.
A gilt brass pocket barometer, signed F Robson, Newcastle, circa 1900, 48mm wide, with leather fitted case 25.04.17, Gilding is faded in parts, glass edge is chipped, dial with thermometer tube missing, dial is slightly discoloured, plastic bag test has been done and the barometer hand is moving, outer case with one small piece of leather missing and small scuff marks.
