He was a frequent visitor to these auction rooms, an elegantly dressed, unassuming man who bought well and had a singular passion for old school antiques.Condition report: Lot 2906This barometer would not appear to be working order and has various condition issues, including a loose/broken hygrometer, loose thermometer with missing moulding etc.

A Victorian rosewood wheel barometer, the silvered dial signed Beringer and Schwerer, Redruth, with moulded edge and leaf carved terminal, height 101cmCondition report: The ivory knob is lacking and a small section of the moulding appears to have been glued, the mercury is present in the tube but we have been unable to test the barometer.

A Stanley brass cased pocket compensated barometer, with silvered dial, numbered 2.264, the back engraved PR No.A.1., diameter 7.4cm, together with a pair of Carl Zeiss Turactem 8X30 binoculars, a pocket watch, a hammer, a mallet and an inkwell (6).Condition report: The barometer reads accurately, the watch doesn't work, it has damage and is incomplete, the binocular is very scruffy but optically sound, the mallet has a steel banded wooden head and feels as though it is lead-weighted

An oak-cased chiming mantel clock of architectural form, height 40cm, an oak-cased banjo barometer by J Rowley Optician, Queen Street Hull, with attached thermometer panel, an oak serving tray with electroplated gallery and handles, on plated ball feet, length handle to handle 57cm and various travel clocks. CONDITION REPORT The barometer is missing its top piece of wood trim to the thermometer panel.
