A late Victorian carved oak aneroid 'banjo' barometer, with thermometer having silvered indices, the barometer with printed 7.5-inch (19cm) earthenware dial, 85cm.Condition report: Case: fair to good with only minor signs of age and use. Main dial fair with strong print and enamel, fine faint crazing overall but not disfiguring. Barometer movement appears operable but cannot be guaranteed. Thermometer is intact but not working.
Two 20th century barometers, both of circular form, one with a brass frame, diameter 12cm, the other in a wooden banjo frame with a timepiece attched above, length 36cm Condition Report: Banjo barometer is generally in good condition with some scuffs and scratches and marks to the woodwork consistent with age and usage. Dial has discolouration and the thermometer has areas of rust but all details are clear. Tarnishing to the metal. Good structural condition with no obvious breakages or repairs.
A mixed assortment of collectables, including: a wall mounted oak cased barometer, 14cms diameter; a Durham City wall plaque in the form of a door knocker; a purple and gilt decorated ceramic carriage clock case, by T. Goode & Co., London (lacking clock face movement and interior); a Jordan & Sons Ltd. black and gilt decorated cast iron embossing stamp machine; a small selection of model railway items; and others.
