GOMEZ DE LA SERNA RAMON: (1888-1963) Spanish Writer. An avant-garde artist who strongly influenced surrealist film maker Luis Buñuel. Both artists went into exile and died far from Spain. A good autograph statement signed `Ramon Gomez de la Serna´, in red ink, one page, oblong 6 x 5, on a page removed from an autograph album, Rosario, Argentina, 13th November 1931, in Spanish. The statement is entitled `Greguería´ and Gomez de la Serna states in full `I like the barometer because it is a silent clock. It even indicates the storms mutely!´ VG £200-300 A Gregueria is a short statement, a philosophical, pragmatic or humorous original idea. Gomez de la Serna was known for his Greguerias form of poetry.
