Vom Kunsthändler Günther Franke römisch nummeriertes Exemplar "II/ XV".Barometer der Emotionen: Was mag dem Künstler nur die Laune verdorben haben, dass er sich derartig grimmigen Gesichts konterfeit? Diese Frage muss den unbescholtenen Betrachter umtreiben, wenn er sich dem stechenden Blick mit den zu unregelmäßigen Schlitzen verengten Augen stellt. Fein ziselierte Brauen ziehen in dynamischem Schwung eine Welle muskulärer Entrüstung über die mächtige Stirn. Die scharf eingesogene Luft spannt die Haut straff über das Nasenbein, die Nüstern beben. Der schmallippige Mund biegt sich breit nach unten weg und schiebt das spitze Kinn energisch nach vorn. Der Hemdkragen ist leicht geöffnet, die Krawatte gelockert und die hintergründig am offenen Fenster flatternde Gardine scheint mit dem schwellenden, angeschnittenen Schädel um die Wette zu blähen. Nur das vorsichtig links hinter der Schulter hervorspähende, spitzohrige Katzentier scheint, gemessen an der Feinzeichnung, seine Sichtbarkeit noch ernsthaft zu überdenken.
