An 18thC oak longcase clock, the arched hood surmounted by eagle and orb finials, with quarter gilt highlighted columns above a silvered 28cm diameter Roman numeric and Arabic dial, eight day ship rolling movement, Arabic date aperture and raised spandrels, titled to The Terrible Captain Lockart with an arched trunk door on bracket feet, 233cm high. See Wilbourn (ASH) and Ellis (R) Lincolnshire Clock, Watch and Barometer Makers, who suggest Aldy worked on The Strait in Lincoln in 1760 and produced other ship related clocks.
