Tarone of Bury Street (Bristol(?) with 8ins silvered dial and alcohol thermometer, contained in case inlaid with ovoid shell motifs and circular paterae, moulded angled pediment and edge of case inlaid with chequered bandings, 38.5ins high
A MAHOGANY WHEEL BAROMETER signed Benjamin Parri, Skipton (fl.1834-41), having ivory finial with hydrometer and thermometer box, 8" silvered dial and spirit level, with signed silvered dial, the case with ebony stringing and swan neck pediment, 38 1/2" high. Provenance: Nicholas Goodison English Barometer 1680-1860, Benjamin Parri (whose name was probably Baldisaro, worked in Skipton as a barometer maker and jewellery, having apprenticed to Remundi in Halifax. He died in 1864 and his son-in-law Innocenti Fattorini continued the business
