Blue Funnel Line ships took their names from mythology, Lycaon was the son of Pelasgus and Meliboea. The vendor's father Captain Tom Walker was master of the ship prior to its' break up. He was granted permission by the Commodore of the Line to take possession of the clock and barometer.
