Anone, Holborn, London, an inlaid mahogany wheel barometer: the eight-inch round silvered dial engraved with typical barometer markings and having a blued steel hand with brass pointer and heavy Georgian brass bezel, the mahogany round-top case with oval shell inlaid decoration to the trunk either side of the thermometer, with further inlaid decoration to the top and base, height 98cm.* Biography Francis Anone is recorded as working in London from circa 1802 at 2 Holborn and then 26 High Holborn, 87 High Holborn, 242 High Holborn and finally 8, Ely Court, Holborn.
