An early 19th century walnut bowfront stick barometer, the silvered dial signed 'Lerboni, Calton Street, Edinburgh', having adjustable scale, the case with ebony stringing, h.101cm Condition Report / Extra Information Case excellent. Dial good. Glass good. Mercury good, no bubbles. Lacks 'key'. Pedestal is possibly original but finial is later. Please note that we cannot ship this item.
A 19th century Belgian slate multi-dial mantle clock, circa 1880, within a trefoil form slate case, bearing 5¾in. (14.7cm.) white enamel Roman chapter ring, the recessed central area showing visible escapement, eight day gong strike movement, within a brass bezel beneath bevelled glass hinged door, two 4¼in. (10.8cm.) dials beneath, the left a perpetual calendar with enamel outer ring denoting months, outside a recessed circular section with three subsidiary dials for day, date and year, above an arched moon phase aperture with night sky decoration, the right dial with aneroid barometer with spear and crescent hand and gilt spear adjuster, with stormy sky decoration, both with brass bezels and bevelled glass doors, centralised shaped glazed housing for mercury pendulum, two reserves of diamond form malachite inlay, on rectangular stepped base with engraved scrolling decoration and circular malachite reserve, label to rear of clock for Foster, Cooper and Foster, 19in. (48.25cm.) high, 21in. (53.3cm.) wide.
A late 19th century pocket barometer by A. Franks of Manchester, the gilt brass instrument with signed silvered dial and rotating outer bezel graduated from 0-8000 feet, 4.8cm. diameter, in the original morocco case. * Condition: Case in good condition - wear to gilt on hanging loop and minor scratches to back. Some tarnishing to silvering to silvered edge of rotating bezel, notably from 5000-8000 feet. Some scuffing to surface of morocco but case in good condition overall.
