A VICTORIAN BRASS CASED MARINE BAROMETERBy Moritz Pillischer, 88 New Bond Street, LondonOf circular form, with suspension loop in a fitted mahogany case, the barometer, 12cm diameterProvenance: The Property of the Late Professor Nevill (1930-2019). Condition report: Please see extra images on the Bellmans website. The cylinder base does not come out of the box - or at least needs careful extraction which has not been possible. The brass is lightly tarnished and oxidised as to be expected. There is a hanging loop on both the barometer case ad box. The dial is oxidised and tarnished around the edges, please see extra images. .The box lid is slightly warped and doesn’t completely close tightly. There are a few inevitable scuffs, knocks and general wear commensurate with use and age. It is not possible to test the functionality of the barometer and it is sold “as is”.
