‘Loves Garland’, a multi gem set brooch by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin, circa 1912, the triangular corsage brooch set with opal, pink tourmalines, blister pearls and green pastes in trailing foliage around a central heart shaped motif, set with a heart shaped opal surrounded by pink tourmalines and blister pearls, with a drop suspended beneath from a single pearl connection, signed G, 5.5cm long, in the original grey velvet bound Mr & Mrs Arthur Gaskin, Olton, Warwickshire fitted case. Exhibited ‘Arthur & Georgie Gaskin’, City Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham 11 February - 21 March 1982, The Fine Art Society, London 29 March - 30 April 1982. Item G40 in this exhibition catalogue and illustrated on P.86 of the exhibition catalogue. The catalogue entry states this piece was previously exhibited at W. T. Whitely ‘The Arts and Crafts Society’s Exhibition at the Grosvenor Gallery’ in 1912, where it was illustrated in ‘The Studio vol. LVII’ and priced at £12 12s 0d. The original pencil drawing for this piece is in the “Drawing Book” by Arthur & Georgie Gaskin (Victoria and Albert Museum ref: E672-709-1969), where all the stones in the piece are labelled, showing that the missing drop was an opal.

A Victorian 18 Carat Gold Opal and Diamond Three Stone Ring, the oval cabochon opal flanked by an old cut diamond on each side in yellow claw settings to a plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 1.00 carat approximately, finger size M The ring is in good condition. It is hallmarked with a maker`s mark obliterated by a sizing piece, Birmingham, 1868. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 6.4 grams.
