A late 19th Century Thomas Webb & Sons cameo glass vase by the Thomas & George Woodall workshop, of ovoid form with short flared neck, cased in opal over ruby and cut with four sunflowers in full and partial bloom, further detailed with three bees to the shoulder and a repeat floral cut border to the rim, base faintly inscribed 1563, height 20cm.
A late 19th Century Thomas Webb & Sons tazza , with frill rim bowl raised on three scrolled and fluted feet, with applied citron threading over a cranberry ground, diameter 20cm, together with a similar pedestal bowl with green threading over a blue ground raised on a clear crystal knopped stem, height 14.5cm, and a similar example with pink and opal banded bowl above a slender stem and threaded foot, height 17.5cm. A late 19th Century Stourbridge glass vase of fluted ovoid form with folded rim, decorated with pastel splatter decoration over an opal ground, together with a similar example with wrythen blue and white bands, a posy bowl with crimped rim in opalescence over a ruby ground, and a trefoil form bowl with diamond moulding and applied ruby rim, tallest 18cm. A large Jane Charles Studio glass vase, of compressed glass form with folded rim, decorated with polished panels with applied silver leaf and opal trailing over a deep blue satin ground, height 34cm., together with another example with clear crystal air bubble stopper, engraved signatures, height 33.5cm. A 22 carat gold, jade and diamond ring, together with an 18 carat gold platinum set opal and diamond ring (2) CONDITION REPORTS Jade ring: centre stone approx. 9mm length 6mm width and 3mm depth total weight 4.3gms. All stones including jade have some small chips, knocks and flaws. Some inclusions to the diamonds visible with the naked eye. Ring itself has surface scratches etc some green showing to the mounts and possible repairs to the setting. General wear and tear conducive to age and use, in need of a clean. Opal ring: center stone approx. 8mm length 5mm width and 1mm depth total weight 4.4gms. All stones have some small scratches and flaws and some have small chips. Opal has an indent on one side (length). General wear and tear conducive to age and use. All diamonds are of a white colour. See images.
* DAPHNE CONSTANCE ALLEN (BRITISH 1899 - 1985), THE SCOTTISH KING AND THE THREE WITCHES FROM ''THE SCOTTISH PLAY'' watercolour on paper, signed 37cm x 27cm Mounted, framed and under glass Note: Born in London, Allen was undertook training from an early age from her parents - her father, Hugh Allen, himself, was a recognised artist. This childhood tutelage provided Allen with considerable opportunity to develop as an artist and her first exhibition occurred at the tender age of 13 and she remains one of the youngest artists to exhibit with the Society of Women Artists. As a child, suites of Allen's illustrations were published in two illustrated books, A Child's Visions and The Birth of the Opal. At the age of 17, a third book including her illustrations was published, The Cradle of Our Lord and in her adult life, a further very rare book including her illustrations was published, The Silver Birch Tree. Allen also contributed illustrations of fairies and religious subjects to a number of magazines, including The Illustrated London News, The Sketch and The Tatler. Daphne Allen's work rarely appears at auction but a set of four 6 x 6 inch watercolours (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) sold at Sotheby's London on 12th June 2003 lot 210 for £10,000 (hammer).
