A 9 Carat Gold Opal Pendant on Chain, the oval opal in a yellow claw setting, on a fine trace link chain, pendant length 2.5cm, chain length 41cm see illustration . The necklace is in good condition. It fastens with a bolt ring catch. The pendant is hallmarked 'AK', the assay office and date letter are illegible. The chain is stamped '9K' and in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 2.6 grams. CR made 04.05.21
A Contemporary Fire Opal Ring, by Georg Spreng, realistically modelled as an eye, the marquise cut fire opal in a yellow rubbed over setting, to a textured effect border, on a cone shaped shank, finger size P see illustration . The ring is in good condition. It is engraved with maker's mark and stamped '750' and in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 17.2 grams. CR made 03.06.21.
An Opal, Diamond and Enamel Brooch, circa 1900, the central marquise cabochon opal in a yellow claw setting, within a frame set at compass points with old cut diamonds in square frames decorated with black enamel, interspaced by floral clusters of guilloche green enamel and an old cut diamond centrally, total estimated diamond weight 0.50 carat approximately, length 3.8cm see illustration . The brooch is in good condition with slight surface scratches and minor chips to the opal. It fastens with a pin and C-hook catch and features a safety chain. The brooch fitting is detachable and the loop which the safety chain is attached to is a later addition. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. The opal measures 20.59mm x 11.89mm x 8.46mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2/I3. Gross weight 12.0 grams. CR made 07.06.21.
An Opal and Rock Crystal Necklace, sixty-four graduated opal beads spaced by faceted rock crystal beads, length 45.5cm see illustration . The necklace is in fair condition a couple of the opal beads are chipped. We cannot guarantee the integrity of the string. It fastens with a tongue and box catch. The largest opal measures 9.78mm with a range of 4.39mm - 9.78mm. It bears no hallmark nor stamp. Gross weight 21.3 grams. CR made 10.11.20.
An 18 Carat White Gold Opal and Diamond Cluster Ring, the oval cabochon opal within a border of round brilliant cut diamonds, in claw settings, to a tapered shoulder plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 1.00 carat approximately, finger size O see illustration . The ring is in good condition however the surface of the opal is slightly scuffed. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'C.L.M', Birmingham, 1988. The opal measures 16.40mm x 12.67mm x 5.70mm approximately. The qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI1/SI2/I1. Gross weight 7.4 grams. CR made 27.05.21

The Rubáiyát..., translated by Edward Fizgerald, photogravure plates by Adelaide Hanscom and Blanche Cumming, all on thin tissue paper, colour-printed sheet of symbols, this copy illuminated in watercolours by Irene Stanley Martin for her brother Frederick Guile Stanley with decorative border to frontispiece, hand-coloured title and borders to text, also with illuminated presentation leaf, list of precious stones used in the binding & their meanings and fair copies of letters/verses from the contributors to the binder John F.Grabau bound in, bound in dark brown morocco elaborately tooled in gilt and set with 86 precious stones, by J.F.Grabau, upper cover with inset panel inlaid with tendrils of flowers and leaves in red, green and coral morocco all tooled in gilt and inset with gem stones around an oval recessed panel mounted with a gold urn inset with large stone, border ruled and tooled in gilt and inset with stones, lower cover with recessed panel inlaid with morocco flowers & leaves and tooled in gilt within similar border but without inset stones and central feature, spine titled in gilt with five raised bands with small gilt dots and compartments of gilt-tooled red morocco floral stem, green morocco doublures ruled and tooled in gilt with similar flowers to corners, signed "19 Grabau 27" at foot of front turn-in, crimson silk moiré flyleaves, t.e.g., others uncut, 4to (c.265 x 200mm.), New York, Dodge Publishing Company, [?1905].⁂ One of the first American literary works to be illustrated with fine art photographs. Adelaide Hanscom Leeson (1875-1931) set up a photographic studio in San Francisco in 1902 with Blanche Cumming, and in 1903 they began taking photographs to illustrate the Rubáiyát, using well-known California literary figures including Charles Keeler, Joaquin Miller, George Sterling, and George Wharton James as models. John Frederick Grabau (1878-1948) trained at Gies & Co. printers in Buffalo, NY, joined the Roycroft Bindery in 1902 and founded his own Derome bindery in Buffalo in 1905. A note at the beginning states,"These and the following Poems and Letters are copied from the Autographed volume owned by John F. and Minnie M.Grabau, and passed on to my friend Frederick G.Stanley who is much interested. March 1927. JF.Grabau, Buffalo, NY." These include pieces by Joaquin Miller, Adelaide Hanscom, Charles Keeler, George Sterling, and George Wharton James, with the latter's mounted cut-signature. The precious gemstones used are moss agate, cats-eye coral, bloodstone, turquoise, garnet, matrix, opal, amethyst sardonyx and pearl.
