An Opal and Diamond Brooch, an oval opal in a rubbed over setting, to a pierced scroll bar set with a round brilliant cut diamond, measures 4.5cm see illustration The brooch is in good condition. It is not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as gold. It fastens with a pin and safety catch. The opal measures 10.00mm x 8.00mm x 2.56mm approximately. Estimated diamond weight 0.03 carat approximately . Gross weight 4.8 grams. Purchased by our vendor in Australia. Condition Report made 5th April 2017.
A Black Opal and Diamond Cluster Ring, an oval cabochon black opal within a border of old cut diamonds in milgrain settings, total estimated diamond weight 0.20 carat approximately, finger size O1/2 see illustration The opal has a chip to one long side. It is not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as platinum. The opal measures 12.40mm x 8.00mm x 4.10mm approximately. The cluster head meausres 1.7cm by 1.3cm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 4.4 grams. Condition Report made 30th May 2017.
