Late Victorian 18ct gold opal and diamond heart-shape ring, the central heart-shape opal cabochon surrounded by old cut diamonds in gold claw setting, with foliate shoulders (Birmingham 1895). Ring size M½ CONDITION REPORT Opal measures approx 6.1mm x 5.1mm x 1.75mm, minute blemish/chip the size of a pinhead that is on the surface towards the top left hand side, only visible with a loupe and probably could be re polished to remove it. The opal has a good play of colour displaying greens and blues. Diamonds of good colour and clarity and well matched. Setting in good condition commensurate with age. Clear hallmarks
A Thomas Webb and Sons Aesthetic padded cameo crystal decanter, pattern W2610, circa 1891. The dimpled globe and shaft form body with applied coloured dabs then acid etched and carved to show a blue butterfly, opal and green berries and ruby wild rose sprays on crystal cameo leaf and thorn stems, the flint ground with panels of various acid etched and cut abstract patterns, the circular foot with an acid etched lunette border and with acid Webb marked to the base. The hollow blown stopper of dimpled square form decorated in the conforming pattern with ruby fuchsias and green leaves, height 30 cm. N.B. Original pattern W2610 as shown has a note "Mr C.W (Charles Webb) requested me to make more of colour as they came out good. (statement initialed)" and has Costs for Woodall vr/- (42/-) and Sale nv/- (84/-).
