Lot 364
A 9 ct gold bar brooch, set with central blue stone framed by seed pearls, struck 9 ct, gross weight 3.6 grams, together with a pair of topaz and seed pearl pendant earrings on gold coloured backing (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The pearl cluster 11.5 mm. Note there is one pearl missing. The blue stone seems to be in good order as do the surfaces of the small pearls. The bar brooch itself is in good condition as is the chain and safety clasp. Weight 3.3 grams. Earrings weight 5.8 grams. Height 34 mm excluding ball and ear wire. One earring has a slight blemish and slight discolouration to the centre left opal. All settings seem solid. The second earring has slight discolouration to the opals which are a little yellow in places. This may simply be dirt we are not sure. The earrings are not hallmarked and have not been tested.
Lot 343
A Chinese white gold coloured metal ring, stamped "18K", the tiered setting with large black opal. Opal 25 mm x 15 mm, size L (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: We cannot say whether the stone is a doublet or not as it is difficult to see the sides and back of the stone due to the mount. We have had a good look at the surface with a magnifying glass and can only see one small scratch to the edge of the opal which runs for approximately 2.5 mm. It is right at the edge by the mount. Weight 12.2 grams.
