An opal and diamond set ring comprising three circular cabochon-cut white opals (5.5mm, 4.2mm, 4.2mm diam) interspersed with three 8-cut keeper diamonds (each 1.1mm diam) and later cushion-shaped French-cut diamond (1.4 x 1.4g mm) on a 9ct gold hallmarked band. A c.1850 opal glass vase of bellied form raised on a spreading circular foot, by George Bacchus & Sons of Birmingham, with transfer printed decoration of classical figures, stamped to base, height 30cm.
