Mustersammlung - - Pilkington Brothers Limited. Sammlung von 62 Glassmustern in Original Holzbox. St. Helens (England), Anfang 20. Jh. Maße der Muster: 7,5 x 10 cm. Box: 33 x 13 x 10 cm. Holzbox mit zwei montierten Schließen und Firmensignet in Golddruck (etwas berieben, fleckig und bestoßen). Die Muster je mit Etikett versehen. Enthält Beispiele mit dekorativen, teils floralen Mustern mit Namen wie "Japanese", "Rose", "Muranese" oder "Morocco", Muster mit eingezogenen Drahtfäden, Rauchglas, Opalglas, verspiegeltes Glas usw. - Das Unternehmen wurde 1826 unter dem Namen St. Helens Crown Glass Company gegründet. Im frühen 17. Jh. hatte die Einführung von Kohleöfen in der Glasherstellung dazu geführt, dass der größte Teil der Glasproduktion im Nordosten Englands stattfand, wo sich die meisten Kohleminen befanden. Seit 1849 firmiert das heute noch bestehende Unternehmen unter dem Namen Pilkington Brothers. - Etwas gebrauchsspurig. Insgesamt gut erhalten. Collection of 62 glass patterns in original wooden box. Includes examples with decorative, partly floral patterns with names such as "Japanese", "Rose", "Muranese" or "Morocco", patterns with indented wire threads, smoked glass, opal glass, mirrored glass, etc. - The company was founded in 1826 under the name of St. Helens Crown Glass Company. In the early 17th century, the introduction of coal furnaces in glass making had meant that most glass production took place in the North East of England, where most of the coal mines were located. Since 1849 the company, which still exists today, has traded under the name Pilkington Brothers. - Some wear. Overall in good condition.

(etwas berieben, beschabt und bestoßen, 1 Bd. leicht sporfleckig). Auf dem Vorsatz je mit dem Stempel des Herstellers. Maße von ca. 2,5 x 5 cm bis 6 x 8 cm. Enthält einen Band mit geprägten Metallmustern in Nickel und Zink, einen mit farb. Emailleblechen, Horn- und Galalithimitationen uns Stahldekoren, einen mit Dekoren in Schwarzdruck sowie einen weiteren mit u.a. lackiertem Nickel-Zink, Opal-Zink und Brokat-Zink. Die nummerierten Muster montiert auf Albumseiten mit dekorativer Bordüre, dort mit hs. Annotationen. - Teils oxidiert und etwas berieben. 1 Bl. lose. Die farbigen Muster überwiegend in leuchtendem und sehr gut erhaltenen Zustand. Collection of 216 decorative metal patterns. 4 vols. Circa 1920. Cont. half cloth bindings (somewhat rubbed, scuffed and bumped, 1 vol. slightly spore spotted). - Each with the manufacturer's stamp on the endpapers. Contains one volume with embossed metal patterns in nickel and zinc, one with coloured enamel, horn and zinc plates with imitations of horn and galalith and steel decorations, one with decorations in black print and another with lacquered nickel-zinc, opal-zinc and brocade-zinc. The numbered designs mounted on album pages with decorative border, there with handwritten annotations. - Partly oxidized and somewhat rubbed. 1 leave loose. The coloured designs mostly in bright and very well preserved condition.
