A 9 Carat Gold Opal Necklace, the yellow trace link chain suspends five pear cabochon opals, in rubbed over settings, with festoon decoration, drop length 2.5cm, necklace length 39cm; and A Pair of Opal Drop Earrings, a pear cabochon opal in a yellow rubbed over setting, with a rope twist border, surmounted by a chain link plain polished bead, with post fittings, drop length 4.0cmThe pieces are in good condition, however one opal in an earring has dropped in its setting. The necklace fastens with a tongue and barrel catch and features a figure-of-eight safety catch. The necklace is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'LA', Birmingham, 2001. The earrings bear no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. Gross weight 10.0 grams.
