A GENTS OPAL SET RING the wide dome shaped ring is made of 18ct yellow gold , set with a 14mm x 10mm x 4mm opal doublet, finger size Y1/2, weight 11.5gms Condition Report:Mount all good, some minor scratches, abrasions to the surface of the opal, and one chip of approx 1mm in diameter, which is only just eye visible.
AN EDWARDIAN BLACK OPAL NECKLET made from 15ct gold, the lower opal measures 10.3mm x 9.5mm x (approx 7.8mm) length of the pendant drop 6cm, length of the chain 41cm. Made by Garrard & Co Ltd, Regents Street, London. With original box. Weight of necklace 7.7gms Condition Report:Overall a beautiful piece, the opals are both very lively in good condition, no chips, the larger one does have some internal cracks, but is stable. The two joining links from the baton drop, the jump rings have been soldered on with gold solder and the gap secured with lead, one of these has come undone, and just needs either gluing or lead soldering again to shut the loop, if you felt that this was essential. There is no damage, it has not been mended with lead. The clasp is not original but is secure and pretty.
