British WWII and post war Lightweight Velocity Recorder IPC/76/047. weight 30.5 lbs, NSN 6625-99-924-8200, this used to calculate the velocity of depth charges from Dreadnought and Class ships, an interesting design in the style of a fishing reel that records the speed of the which the ordnance drops and as to where is has fallen in order to make sure the delivery systems are working properly on board the ships. Excellent condition however some internal pieces missing this piece of equipment is near complete in its original wooden box.
Chimney Boys.- Davis (John, chimney sweep) Autograph Letter signed to Captain Godfrey, storekeeper of the Office of Ordnance, 1p., folio, Purfleet, 11th June 1813, "You will give directions for the Chimney shape attached to Taylors shed to be enlarged as there is a check by the roof so as to prevent the Boy or a wiff of straw to go up or down which was the occasion the chimney being on fire"; and another, Letter signed sending the report by Davis to Major Birch, Royal Engineers, a few small holes, folds, browned (2).

A WWI American 1907 pattern bayonet by Remington: the straight fullered blade stamped 'US' with ordnance and inspector's marks to one side and Remington to the other, also dated '1917' over two piece wooden grip, in a steel mounted black leather scabbard stamped 'GF' to chape and throat and ''Jewell-1918' to spine, blade length 43cm.

Condr: F. J. Waddell. Can: A.O.C.); Permanent Forces of the Empire Beyond the Seas L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (S.Sgt. F. J. Waddell. R.C.O.C.) good very fine (3) £300-£400 --- Francis John Waddell was born at Chatham, Kent, on 1 May 1882 and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Ordnance Corps at Halifax, Nova Scotia, on 19 July 1912, having previously served for 8 years in the (British) Army Ordnance Corps. Advanced Staff Sergeant on 1 October 1915, Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant on 1 June 1916, and Acting Sub Conductor (Warrant Officer, Class I) on 4 February 1918, he served during the Great War in England only (not entitled to the Victory Medal), and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, in recognition of valuable service rendered in connection with the war (London Gazette 13 June 1919). Eventually settling in Ashford, Kent, he died on 26 January 1979.

Accompanied by a pair of 1946 pattern battle dress trousers, officers shirt and items of equipment. Officers service dress peaked cap with George VI officers silver gilt cap badge to the front. Set generally in good condition.
