U.S. Navy ordnance scope issued during WWII in oak case.This 16 power spotting scope was issued aboard line ships across the seas during World War Two. Produced by the Kollmorgen Optical Corporation under contract from the U.S.N. Bureau of Ships, and heavily constructed from enameled, spun bronze, and coated in an early form of abrasion resistant polymer, this scope shows good condition with unchipped lenses and strong enamel finish. The original coating is also in good condition, and the felt lined oak presentation box- with its brass hardware and finger jointed construction- holds the scope firmly. Hill KBE, CB, DSO, JP (1880-1960).Major General Sir Basil Alexander Hill was commissioned into the Royal Marine Artillery in September 1897, transferring to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps in 1908. He had a distinguished career in the First World War, seeing action in the siege of Qingdao in 1914, in Gallipoli and the Egyptian Expeditionary Force. He was mentioned in dispatches three times and awarded the DSO in 1919. He retired from regular service in 1941. On the formation of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in 1942 Sir Basil was appointed the first Colonel Commandant, holding that appointment until 1947.Besides being an avid art collector, Sir Basil was a passionate rugby football player, having played for England in nine International matches. In 1946, he presented the Hill Cup, awarded annually to the winner of the REME Rugby Union competition in the United Kingdom.Note:Rong Yin Tang, the Hall in the Shade of the Banyan, was part of the administrative office of Li Ba, famous scholar and Magistrate of Fu Ning during the Qianlong period. Original antique engraving map of Surrey - Surre. Good condition, paper losses on margin, creases on margin, tears on margin, light staining, pencil mark in margin. County: UK, year of printing: 1800s, designer: Benj Baker and Assistants, size (cm): 100x68. Benjamin Baker (publisher/printer; printmaker; 1766 - 1841). Map engraver and publisher. Engraved numerous maps for William Faden and various leading publishers before becoming principal engraver to the Ordnance Survey in 1804. His duties included not only carrying out the more complex engraving but supervising the other engravers and seeing the maps through the press. Baker and his team came to be regarded as "the best topographical engravers in Europe" (Seymour). Benjamin was the son of Edward Baker and Mary Howard (mar. 1756).

Fine 12 Bore Percussion Yeomanry Carbine c 1840-1845, Probably Irish, twist barrel struck with Government inspector's and Ordnance view and proof marks, foresight cut with a sighting channel, lock engraved WARRANTED and fitted with a sliding safety bolt and 3 bents to the action, fullstock with a swivel ramrod and brass furniture of regulation pattern. Barrel 45.3cms, overall 85cms. Fine condition with excellent age patina. The carbine retains excellent age patina overall. Note the third bent or "capping notch" is a feature typical of Irish percussion arms. This carbine is illustrated in British Non-Ordnance Military Carbines 1750-1900, B.C. Chisnall, 2011 PG-043.

British Officers WW1 and WW2 Medal Group of Seven, Late 10th London Regiment and Royal Army Ordnance Corps, group consists of 1914-15 star “2 LIEUT N A LEE 10-LOND R”, British War and Victory medals “CAPT N A LEE”, 1939-45 star, George VI Defence medal, 1939-45 War medal with MID oak leaf and GVIR Territorial Decoration with 1941 dated reverse. Medals have been cleaned. He served with the 1/10th London’s at Gallipoli from 20th September 1915. He later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps. WW2 served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.
