M 79 with Prussian acceptance Manufacturer: Gebr. Mauser Oberndorf a.N. 1880 Item no.: 1911 Caliber: 10.6 mm German OrdnanceExtremely rare revolver M 79 by Gebrüder Mauser in Oberndorf with Prussian acceptance mark in almost mint overall condition with 96% original finish. The bluing is rubbed on the muzzle bead and the loading flap due to wear.Presumably Prussian acceptance, as the revolver was intended for the federal fortress of Ulm, which belonged to the German Empire. As this was located on Württemberg territory, the troops stationed there were equipped with weapons made by Mauser. The M 79 revolvers manufactured by Mauser for Bavaria bear the proof mark GF of the AMBERG rifle factory. On the left side of the frame the manufacturer's inscription Gebr. Mauser & Cie. 1880 Oberndorf in an oval as well as the year 1881 for the commissioning and the serial number 1911.On the frame at the level of the barrel root the serial no. 1911 and the military proof mark for Prussia in the shape of a stylized eagle. Serial number and acceptance marks etc. in the usual places.Particularly noteworthy in connection with the Prussian proof mark is the Württemberg ownership stamp "Württembergische Königskrone über W" on the metal grip end next to the crown over A proof mark. There is no troop stamp on the weapon.Gun license required. Please check the regulations in the country you live in. Please note bidders should check if the item is permitted in their country of origin prior to bidding. All guns are antique firearms as described
