Birmingham Ordnance marked steel barrel, rifled with five grooves, fitted with bayonet lug at muzzle, barleycorn front-sight and ladder rear-sight, the breech with positive bolt locking Mk III action, the lock stamped with the Crown V.R. cypher on the tail and 'B.S.A. Co / 1872', to the centre, regulation iron mounted full walnut stock, the left side of the butt stamped 'D.C.' (Dominion of Canada) inside a diamond, and '30 /362', on the heel of the butt, probably Canadian Militia unit markings, with correct style replacement rod. Sold as an exempt item under Section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act, to be held as a curiosity or ornament

Birmingham proofed barrel, the breech engraved with the retailers name 'J. JEFFERSON, SCARBOROUGH', rifled with three grooves and fitted with a Pattern 1856 bayonet lug at muzzle, barleycorn front-sight and ladder rear-sight, borderline engraved lock stamped with the Crown V.R. cypher on the tail and '1860 / TOWER', to the centre, regulation iron mounted full walnut stock, complete with sling swivels, old brown leather sling and original loading rod.
