An 11mm Egyptian Remington rolling block rifle, 50½" overall, barrel 35" with folding ladder rearsight and bayonet bar at the muzzle; the upper frame strap stamped "Remington Ilion N.Y, USA" and patent dates to "April 17th 1866" (last digit unclear); walnut fullstock, the butt with illegible storekeeper's mark, with 3 barrel bands and sling swivels. GWO & C with dull blued finish to metalwork (no cleaning rod). Note: the Egyptian Revolvers were part of a frustrated export to France subsequently bought by the Egyptian Government. Action works, holds at full and half cock. Fore-end has been shortened. Pitting to metalwork and bruising to stock.

MAY 3D, NOV.15TH 1864, APRIL 17TH 1866, walnut full stock with three steel barrel bands, one stamped U, no other visible markings, with curved steel butt plate, two sling swivels and clearing rod, 128cm. Rust pitting to muzzle, barrel band securing springs, frame and butt plate. Bruising to stock with faint Farsi type marks. Action works, but trigger is very stiff. Rifling quite crisp

Action works. Nice crisp rifling. Minor bruising to stock. Generally in good condition.
