OF ROYAL SCOTS AND BISLEY INETEREST A SCARCE .450 CALIBRE MARTINI HENRY BISLEY PRIZE RIFLE, 32.5inch sighted blued barrel fitted with ramp and ladder rear sights and serial numbered B869 at the breech, plain blued action serial numbered B869, full stocked with steel mounts, steel ramrod, the butt inset with an oval silver plaque FIELD RIFLE CD'S PRIZE N.R.A. BISLEY 1894 1ST PRIZE WON BY CORPL. A. WATT 6TH V.B. ROYAL SCOTS INNERLEITHEN, contained in its presentation case and complete with a folder of research. Corporal Adam Watt (later Captain) (1862-1952), consistent shot at Bisley for forty years, reserve for Scotland in the Nationals in 1891 and 1897 and shot for Scotland in the Mackinnon match of 1901. During the war he was involved in a road accident resulting in a defect in his right eye and a bad injury to his shoulder, so trained himself to shoot from his left shoulder using his left eye. Eventually once his injuries had improved he was able to shoot from either shoulder.
