Scarce Pritchett .577 percussion cap rifle circa 1852 with prototype Pritchett-Metford rifling to take the Pritchett patent expanding bullet which was subsequently adopted by Board of Ordinance for the 1853 patent Enfield rifle, the 34inch barrel with block and blade foresight and elevated ladder rear sight. Similar to the 1851 pattern Enfield, the lock engraved R T Pritchett (Robert Taylor Pritchett subsequently became a prominent artist and personal favourite of Queen Victoria for the official recording of notable events)
