Cruikshank (George).- Hone (William) Facetiae and Miscellanies, second edition, illustrations by George Cruikshank, some folding, some hand-coloured, some light browning, two contemporary/old ink inscriptions to front free endpaper, contemporary half calf, spine gilt, a little rubbed, [Cohn 405], 8vo, 1827.⁂ Comprising 14 items in 1 vol., varied editions as always, and including "Fine Edition, Coloured" of 'The Political House that Jack Built' with hand-coloured illustrations on thick paper, scarce engraved banknote on thin paper signed "J.Ketch" but no model "Queen's Ladder" called for by Cohn but possibly never issued with this collected edition.
A fine and impressive General Store room-set with contents, German circa 1890, the painted wooden sand stone brick exterior, removable panels with glazed windows and shutters, the interior with large built-in cupboards to rear with sixteen drawers for food with porcelain plaques, two arched shelves with painted blue interiors and central mirror backed shelves, with a further two hanging shelves to side walls, large counter and smaller table, step ladder and chair with original papers to walls and tile effect floor. Contents include painted green and brass scales, coffee grinder, tinplate Spiritus barrel with tap, till, paper dispenser, a number of wooden barrels including two on stand, sacks of salt and sugar, and assorted porcelain jars, bottles and containers, food packages, tins of produce and more, condition: in nice original condition, some normal wear, 17” (43cm) high, 27 ½” (67cm) wide, 16” (40cm) deep.
A .577 CALIBRE PERCUSSION VOLUNTEER 1856 PATTERN SHORT RIFLE, 33inch sighted barrel fitted with ramp and ladder rear sights, border and scroll engraved lock decorated with the crest and motto LABOR OMNIA VINCET, full stocked with border and scroll engraved regulation steel mounts, steel ramrod. Pitting to mounts and barrel tang cracked, crest is that of Bradford.

Some restoration to woodwork and ramrod lacking.
A .577 OBSOLETE CALIBRE SNIDER ENFIELD RIFLE, 36.5inch sighted octagonal barrel with Indian ramp and ladder rear sights, border engraved lock dated 1864 over ENFIELD, and a crown over VR at the tail, full stocked with regulation brass and steel mounts, steel ramrod, together with a worn percussion BRAENDLIN ARMOURY carbine. A .450 OBSOLETE CALIBRE MARTINI HENRY ARTILLERY CARBINE, 20.75inch sighted barrel fitted with ramp and ladder rear sights, the breech stamped DP and with various Ordnance and Sold Out Of Service marks, full stocked with regulation steel mounts, steel cleaning rod. The butt appears to be marked to the 3rd Kent Volunteer Artillery, action at fault.
A .577 CALIBRE PATTERN 1858 VOLUNTEER PERCUSSION SHORT RIFLE, 33inch sighted barrel fitted with ramp and ladder rear sights, border engraved locked indistinctly signed GLASGOW, full stock with regulation steel mounts, steel ramrod, patinated, together with a worn 1842 Pattern Constabulary carbine by COLLIS, cracked clean through the wrist and a crude percussion sporting gun. A SHORTENED PATTERN 1853 PERCUSSION SERVICE RIFLE, 24inch sighted barrel fitted with ramp and ladder rear sights, border engraved lock stamped 1857 over TOWER and with a crown over VR at the tail, full stocked with regulation brass and steel mounts, hammer and screw replaced, later ramrod, together with a crude native decorated Martini Henry Carbine and a crude percussion sporting gun.
