A SCARCE 1796 PATTERN HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD, 86.5cm blade by Woolley with hatchet point, iron bowl type hilt pierced with triangles, ladder type knuckle guard with single side loop (one missing), leather covered grip. See R. Dellar, The British Cavalry Sword 1788-1912, pages 182-184 where it is concluded that this pattern was carried by troopers of the Royal Horse Guards.
