A 1964 Land Rover Series IIA 109 LWB fire engine project, no paperwork, red. This very original fire engine has had an interesting life. It was originally supplied by The Bucks Motor Co Ltd (enamel dealer’s plaque proudly displayed on the passenger door) to Hazell, Watson and Viney Ltd, a printing company in Aylesbury. They would retain the Land Rover as their works fire engine until 1991 when the printing firm closed. The Robert Maxwell printing group purchased the fire engine and moved it to Purnell and Sons, Paulton, Somerset where it resumed duties. It would remain in service until our vendor purchased it in 1994. Since acquiring the Land Rover it was used to attend one local classic car event and has remained barn stored unused since 1995. Displaying a believed genuine mileage of under 3500 miles on the odometer the fire engine appears to retain all of its equipment apart from the ladder. The Land Rover carries the registration number BKX 454B but unfortunately there is not any accompanying documentation so the next custodian will need to apply for a new V5C. Now requiring restoration this low mileage and owner fire engine offers an exciting opportunity to add a rare commercial to your collection. No paperwork, MOT and tax exempt See illustration
