The elbow chair - some repairs, the back, turned left hand supports for horizontal cross stretchers, arm has been pegged on the back and also on the opposite arm pegged on the back, front left hand leg cracked at the top left hand side the upright rectangular section with a piece of timber missing approx. 5cms, shrinkage crack between the front stretcher and the opposite leg some loss of colour and signs of repolishing, a strip of old polish to the left hand support to the elbow rest, otherwise sound

ITALIAN SCHOOL "Cherub on a cloud with ladder", oil on panel, unsigned, housed in a 19th Century Italian carved and gilded frame with putti and cherub decoration CONDITION REPORTS Maximum size of frame approx 44 cm high x 36 cm wide. Overall with some wear, scuffs and scratches, some craqueleur to surface and wear and scuffs, section of moulding broken off and re-glued to lower edge, plus may have had repairs and re-gilding. Painting to centre has plainer band to either side and may originally have fitted into a different sized frame, craqueleur to paint surface, judging from the paper surround verso centre section appears to have been relatively recently inserted or reinserted. Size of painting to the centre is approx 12.5 cm x 15 cm.
