A Victorian 1863 Snider Mk.II** Carbine by London Armoury Company, .577 calibre, the 48.5cm round barrel with hinged ladder rear sight and stamped with various inspector's marks, the top of the breech block marked II/*/*, the breech cover is stamped with maker's logo, the lock plate is marked with crowned VR, crowned arrow, 1863/L.A.C., the walnut half stock with single barrel band to the fore-end, brass trigger guard and butt plate, 96cm, lacks cleaning rodAction works, holds at full and half cock. Bore is pitted. Barrel has black patching and pitting, particularly around the muzzle. Lacks cleaning rod and sling swivel. Bruising to stock.
A Victorian Tower 1857 Percussion Three Band Musket, .650 calibre, the 99cm steel barrel with hinged ladder rear sight, the lock plate marked with crown over V.R., 1857, TOWER, the walnut full stock with three steel barrel bands with sprung clips, brass fore-end tip, trigger guard and butt plate, with two sling swivels, leather sling and steel ramrod, 140cm, together with a socket bayonet with brass mounted leather scabbard, the frog button stamped 140 . Action works, holds at full and half cock. Bruising to stock and butt plate. Piece of wood missing to the right side of the barrel tang behind the nipple. Bore is deeply pitted and the muzzle is rather uneven. Later covered in a thick varnish.
An Albini-Braendlin Model 1868 Front Hinged Breech 11mm Calibre Military Service Rifle, the 87.5cm steel barrel stamped H/5092, 1868, and various inspector's marks, with hinged ladder rear sight, the interior of the hinged breech numbered 620, the walnut full stock with three steel barrel bands with spring clips and two sling swivels, the left side of the butt stamped 620, the striker numbered 5092, with steel cleaning rod, 136cm. Action works, holds at full and half cock. Some pitting to bore, but rifling is quite crisp. Minor bruising to stock.
A First Half 18th Century Fan, the carved and pierced ivory sticks also painted and decorated with mother-of-pearl, the gorge elaborately so. The head is unusually flat at the very tip. The velum leaf, mounted à l'Anglaise, depicts a nursemaid in the park carrying one small girl whilst supervising an older child playing with a miniature horse on wheels. A vignette to the right shows a galleon on the sea near to port, and to the left a boy ascends a ladder in order to pick fruit for a lady waiting with her basket. The scenes are bordered with delicate and colourful flowers. The verso is painted with a ship on the seas passing a rock on which flows a fountain. Guard length 10.5 inches or 26.5cmGood. Light rubbing to the folds.
