An attractive pair of ko-Imari Jars and Covers, c.1670, each ovoid body painted with yellow and blue peony growing from turquoise leaves and with other yellow and red flowers, the shoulders with spearheads below fret, the domed covers with heavy blue knops, both with basal and other cracks, one cover repaired, wear, 28cm (4) , One cover broken in two and glued, one third of interior rim missing, four rivet holes, a large and a small chip to outer rim. Tiny enamel chip to knop. The other cover with no obvious faults. Jar one - 4cm vertical hairline crack, 20cm x 6cm patch of crazed and brown glazing. A wavy hairline crack running under the base and 3cm up the side, some enamel losses. Jar two - Patches of brown crazed glazing. 3cm horizontal firing crack just below centre of body. Some enamel losses.
An Arita Jar, c.1700, painted in an Imari palette with frolicking shi shi and stylised flowers, foot rim damage, 30.5cm, and a moulded Dish, c.1720, well enamelled and gilt on the chrysanthemum ground with panels of diaper, six character mark, 24cm (2), the jar has some chips to the foot, one of these is glazed over so a contemporary fault. There are also some small enamel losses (mainly to the black enamel robes and hair). Dish is generally good with only some mild crazing to the interior.
Two chargers, early and mid 18th century, painted in enamels with peony and precious objects, all in Imari style, both riveted and repaired, 38.5cm and 36cm (2) , largest charger - one quarter of the rim is broken and badly repaired, rivets to the underside, some rivets missing, a further 12cm hairline crack to the left of the main image. Small amount of fritting to rim. Smaller charger - the border severely broken, glued and repaired in four quarters, surface scratches throughout, rivets to underside, footrim severely chipped.
Twelve Chinese Imari plates, c1700, each with underglaze blue, iron red and gilt prunus and other flowers, a butterfly and a cricket, the borders with lotus, some damage, 22cm (12), eight plates are severely damaged, broken and restored (some with rivets) the remaining 4 plates each with fine hairline cracks and some small rim chips.
Dutch silver-mounted porcelain, c.1700 and 1770, an underglaze blue dish with langeleizen and an Imari saucer, a pair of underglaze blue and lotus-carved saucer dishes, and a Kangxi plate, all with some damage, 11cm to 24.8cm (5), Basket - hairline crack running from the rim to the base, with boken and restored sections alongside. Imari palette dish - drilled to centre. Pair of dishes - each with fine hairline cracks. Plate - rim chips and a small hairline crack.
